MARANA -- Estes Elementary in Marana was named as one of 50 schools to receive a $100,000 grant this last week.
Target announced the names of 50 schools that were selected to receive a $100,000 grant from the company to improve their learning environments. On the list of schools is MUSD's Estes Elementary.

MARANA -- Marana residents will get to vote for a replacement for US Representative Gabrielle Giffords' position in the next few months. But this replacement will only be Marana's elected official for a few months. After the state redistricting process to take effect this fall, Marana will now be in District 1 with the north part of the state. ...more

MARANA -- One man sustained life threatening injuries after a three-vehicle accident on Tangerine Rd., near Camino De Oeste around 11 a.m., on Thursday.
An off-duty Northwest Fire Department Fire Captain who came upon the accident just after it occurred was followed by an EMS training officer who found five patients with moderate to severe injuries.

The actual process started last fall at the Marana Town Council retreat. There are five key areas to the plan: Commerce, Community, Progress and Innovation, Heritage, and Recreation.
