MARANA — A ribbon cutting was held last Monday, Jan. 25 for a new Culinary Arts and Early Childhood building on the Mountain View High School campus.
Governing board members and the superintendents representing the Pima County Joint Technological Education District (JTED) and the Marana Unified School District took part in the ceremony. Students, educators, parents and other community leaders joined them. After the ribbon was cut everyone was invited to join in a reception serving hors d’œuvres created by students in the brand new kitchens.
Students and teachers were thrilled with their new surroundings.
“This is an awesome place to work for them (culinary arts students),” said Culinary Instructor Laurel Krinke. “How incredible. This is better than most professional kitchens that are out there and they have enough to do. They’re never without work. The students are the best, that’s why I come to work everyday.”
