Tiger volleyball drops a pair to tough foes

MARANA — It was a tough week for the Marana boys volleyball team. The Tigers played two games in a 24 hour span and lost both.

The Tigers lost a heartbreaking 3-2 match to Desert View last Tuesday.

The Jags won the first two sets. It was all Desert View in the first set, with the Jags taking it 25-17. The second set was much tougher, but Desert View held on to win 21-25.

Marana seemed buoyed by their improved play in the second set and jumped out quickly in the third and dominated with a 25-13 win.

The fourth and fifth sets were both as close as could be. The Tigers edged the Jaguars 25-23 in the fourth set to even things up, but then fell 15-13 in the final set.
