The Thornydale 9/10 Softball team wasted little time sewing up their District 5 Championship. They beat Tanque Verde 10-0 in a game that lasted a little over an hour.
The win capped off a perfect 3-0 run in the tournament for Thornydale. They outscored their opponents 44-6.
They opened the event last week with an 18-0 win over Tanque Verde, then followed that up with a 16-6 win over Continental Ranch to advance to the championship series.
The win advances Thornydale to the state championship tournament in Tucson. Games start July 16.
