Literacy Volunteers of Tucson and the library are offering a free program to adults who want to learn how to speak, read, and write English. This program will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., on Wednesdays, at the Wheeler Taft Abbett Sr. Library. Call (520) 594-5200 to inquire. You may be placed on an interest list.

Free GED Classes - Preparation and Tutoring are available on Fridays, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., at the Wheeler Taft Abbett Sr. Library. At this drop-in class get help from our tutors to get started preparing for the GED at your own pace.

The Friends of the Pima County Public Library’s book sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on May 5, at the Wheeler Taft Abbett Sr. Library, offers a wide selection of titles. Browse popular nonfiction subjects, interesting children’s materials, CDs, DVDs, and other items at bargain prices.

Drop-in Job Help will be held from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., on May 5, at the Geasa-Marana library. The Job Help Hub Instructor is available to answer questions you might have on a wide variety of computer topics. An individual can sign up for a half hour one-on-one session during drop-in job help; stop in or call the library at (520) 594-5255.

The Wheeler Taft Abbett Library will welcome Physics Factory for Science Saturdays from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m., on May 5. Dazzling physics demonstrations combined with hands on activities. This is a fun, interactive science-oriented program for all ages. With a different topic every month, you’re sure to find something you’ll love.

May 7 and 14

Individual Job Counseling is being offered from 10 a.m. to noon, on May 8, at Wheeler Taft Abbett Sr. Library. One-to-one assistance with resumes, cover letters, interviewing, and research. Learn techniques to organize your job search and follow-up. Each individual session limited to 30 minutes. Call (520) 594-5200 to register.
