MARANA — The Marana Town Council held a study session followed by a full council meeting last night.
The study session was dedicated to Capital Improvement Projects (CIP)
A little more than $2 million in CIPs are budgeted for fiscal 2013. That’s an increase of $224,077 from the current budget.
Most of that money will be broken up into smaller projects – like roadwork to maintain Marana streets. Money will also go to the Pavement Prevention Program
The regular council meeting agenda dealt with more housekeeping business. The consent agenda offered a vote to approve and support the development of the F-35 next generation fighter that is expected to be stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix and in Tucson.
The council also discussed items relating to the Marana Police Department; for discussion, consideration and possible action regarding a section of the Marana Town Code, entitled public safety employee-employer relations; meet and confer.
