Burn permits suspended for now

As of May 1, no burn permits, residential or agricultural, will be issued by the Avra Valley Fire District for Pima County or Pinal County.

They will leave the suspension in place until the monsoon season is in full swing, which is usually sometime in August.

After May 1, the only burn permits that will be valid are the existing Agricultural burn permits, which are issued for a one year time span in Pinal County and for a three month time span in Pima County.

Please refrain from all open outdoor fires from May 1 to Sept. 30 (recreational burns).

Please call the Avra Valley Fire District at (520) 682-3255 if you have any questions. You may also call the district later in the summer for information regarding the lifting of the burn permit suspension.
