Congratulations to the DeGrazia Elementary School chess team for their excellent performance in the Arizona State Chess Championships held April 21 and 22 at Mesquite Jr. High in Gilbert. The team of Nghishawn Nguyen, Jannessa Inthisone, Ben Campbell, Quinton Nickum, Tyler Hedrick, Talin Chambers, Caleb Wilcox, and Hunter Holt battled on the chessboard for two days against 30 schools to earn the fifth place kindergarten through sixth grade elementary team trophy.
