MARANA — Units from the Avra Valley Fire District responded to reports of a collision of a vehicle into a semi at I-10 milepost 225 westbound on Tuesday.
Upon arrival units found an SUV that appeared to have rear ended a cement truck. The SUV had heavy front end damage. There were seven passengers inside the SUV. Two of the patients were adults with serious injuries but in stable condition. The other five patients were children who received minor injuries and were in stable condition. All victims were transported to University Medical Center by AVFD ambulances.
The cement truck had only one passenger who sustained no injuries.
The accident is under investigation by the Department of Public Safety.
