Posted: Wednesday, Jun 27th, 2012

Continental Ranch Majors

Three of the four age groups were in action on Tuesday night in the District 5 Little League All-Star Tournament.

9/10 Baseball

Marana received a first round bye and had to face a CDO team who was coming off of a 10-run first round win. CDO’s bats kept working, but Marana nearly answered them run for run before falling 15-14.

Marana will next play on Friday night against the winner of Frontier and Tanque Verde.

After beating Thornydale 20-16 on Monday night, Continental Ranch received a second round bye. They play Coronado on Thursday night.

Thornydale plays Tucson Mountain in an elimination game on Wednesday night.

10/11 Baseball

A day after scoring 12 runs against Tanque Verde, Thornydale’s 10/11 All-Star team scored 18 runs and beat Continental Ranch 18-2.

Thornydale will play unbeaten Amphi on Wednesday night, while CRLL will meet Frontier, also on Wednesday.

Majors Baseball

24 hours after scoring 13 runs against Tanque Verde, the Thornydale bats were not as potent in a 10-3 loss to Canyon View. CVLL had a first round bye.

Thornydale will next play on Wednesday night.

Continental Ranch won their first round game thanks to a Marana forfeit. They fell Tuesday night 9-3 to Tucson Mountain. They drop to the loser’s bracket where they will face Amphi in an elimination game on Wednesday night.

Marana is also schedule to play in an elimination game on Wednesday, but it is not known if they will be able to field a team.
