MARANA — There is less than once week left before the Town of Marana’s annual Star Spangled Spectacular on July 4.
Quarry Pines will also feature more activities this year.
“It’s going to be a good time,” said Donn Hess, Quarry Pines Golf Club General Manager, adding that last year was a good event, but, “this year is going to be even better.”
The events of the evening will begin at 6 p.m. Fireworks sponsored by Comcast will light the sky at 9 p.m. The pyrotechnics will be launched from Quarry Pines Golf Club with the main driving range provided as an ideal spot for those who want a close up view of the fireworks.
“It’s the closest they can possibly be to the fireworks,” Hess said about watching the fireworks on the driving range.
Among the variety of activities planned at the Quarry Pines are a performance by a blues/rock band called Black Cat Bones. The band will take the stage from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
There will also be an extended beer garden, a food court with vendors selling hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, popcorn, cotton candy, and lemonade.
For the kids will be the ever-popular jumping castles featuring a Batman obstacle course, a CARS jumping castle, and one of the most popular attractions, the Titanic. Those wanting to test their skills can see just how fast they can throw with the speed pitch machine. An all-night play pass is available for purchase, as well as individual tickets for the attractions.
This event at the Quarry Pines is sponsored by Maracay Homes, Aufmuth Motors and Red Point Development.
Parking is available for $5 and can be purchased in advance by visiting www.playthepines.com or stopping by the pro shop at the golf course. Parking can be purchased that night, cash only, and parking spaces are limited.
Across the river at Crossroads at Silverbell Park there will be a movie in the park and lots of youth activities and games. Crossroads also offers another great place to view the fireworks.
