Thursday night All-Star update

10/11 Softball

Thornydale is one win away from the tournament championship after beating Marana 15-5 Thursday night. Thornydale invoked the 10-run rule in the third inning.

The two teams will meet Friday night at Crossroads Park in the second game of the three-game series. If Thornydale wins, they take the title and advance to the state tournament in Benson.

9/10 Baseball

Continental Ranch suffered their first loss of the tournament, falling to Coronado 21-3 on Thursday night. Coronado advances to the championship bracket, while Continental Ranch will play in an elimination game Saturday night against the winner of Friday night’s Thornydale/Western game.

Marana also plays Friday night. They face Frontier for the right to play Sabino Canyon for the final spot in the championship bracket.

9/10 Softball

Marana was eliminated Thursday night with a 26-6 loss to Tanque Verde. It was Marana’s second loss in the double elimination tournament. Tanque Verde will play Continental Ranch on Saturday night, the winner to face Thornydale for the championship. The first game is schedule for Monday night.
