MARANA — According to the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), drowning is the second most common cause of injury in Arizona. In response to this startling statistic, the Marana Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with YMCA of Southern Arizona to offer “All Kids Swim” program. Program instructors teach an estimated 1,200 children how to swim and to provide water safety lessons.
The final session of the swim lessons begin on Monday and will run until July 26.
The cost is $10 per sessions. There are eight lessons per morning session and seven per evening session. Each session lasts 30 minutes and are held Monday through Thursday for children ages five to 12.
The class times are:
9:05 a.m.– 9:35 a.m.
9:40 a.m.– 10:10 a.m.
10:20 a.m.– 10:50 a.m.
5 p.m.– 5:30 p.m.
5:35 p.m.– 6:05 p.m.
6:10 p.m.– 6:40 p.m.
